The Last Neanderthal by Claire Cameron

I read and enjoyed The Bear last year, so The Last Neanderthal – the newest from Claire Cameron – has been on my most-anticipated novels of the year list for a while. The subject matter and structure – the story of a neanderthal woman juxtaposed with the story of the archaeologist who finds her bones centuries later – sounds like it could be very good or very bad. All I know is that I waited five months for my hold to come in at the library, and there are 283 people on the hold list waiting for a copy as we speak, so I”m not the only one hoping it’s going to be good. No pressure.
