This Accident of Being Lost by Leanne Betasamosake Simpson

The thing about having a CanLit pal is that your CanLit pal hooks you up with CanLit (which is fair because I do the same for her).

This latest borrowed book is a collection – but a collection of what? I haven’t looked too far into it because I don’t need to know much about it to know I’m going to want to read it.¬†Essays? Short stories? Poems? All I know is CanLit Pal bookmarked her favourite section and I promised I won’t peek ahead to see what it is.

Leanne Betasamosake Simpson is a CanLit powerhouse – an indigenous voice for history, community, and healing. And good god, can she write. I don’t have to open this book or even read the back to recommend it to you, too.
