Prizing Literature by Gillian Roberts

Last week I dove into the 800s section of my local library specifically to retrieve this book – a trip which yielded not only this title but a host of other golden finds.

This one sounds a little like dry reading, and I suppose it is a little dry, but it has several things going for it: one, that I’ve had it out of the library before. Two, that it has an unintentionally hilarious cover (at least to me) which boils down to a book on a book on a book. Third, that I’m starting my English PhD this September and will be specifically focusing on Canadian book prizes – so this little volume is straight up my alley. I know I’m probably biased, but it’s actually really interesting stuff! I swear!
